About Us
At MGS we pride ourselves in changing lives through education and maintaining relationships with our alumni. As such, we are proud that from the time the organisation was founded, in the late 90s, to date, the schools have produced many professionals including doctors, company directors, government department managers, head office officials, journalists, educators, principals, subject facilitators, police, soldiers, and nurses, to name a few. Additionally, several matriculants have received bursaries from sponsors such as the Shuttleworth Foundation and Deloitte, to further their studies overseas.
Since 2010, the schools have been achieving a matric pass rate between 90% and 100%, which led to the Gauteng Department of Education, Johannesburg South District (D11) selecting Isikhumbuzo Secondary School as one of the centres to host district cluster meetings.
Our schools have attracted people from different ethnicities and diverse backgrounds, from the poor to well sustained families as we offer a well rounded education curriculum, and learning and sports facilities. We have constantly been recognised to have some of the best performing schools in our district, and have received awards including the NSC Top Performing Subjects Award, Best Performing Independent Secondary School in Circuit 1, and various other sports awards.

Curriculum and Facilities
Our schools offer the national public school curriculum as provided by the Department of Basic Education, including the following streams: Sciences, Humanities, Commerce and Services. However, because our schools aim for excellence, we endorse a 50% pass rate for all subjects. The standard of excellence has forced the management team to seek the best educators available to assist our students in attaining the results desired by them and the schools, which is to strive for excellence. Our schools also offer eight official languages spoken in the country: English Home and First Additional Language, isiZulu Home Language, isiXhosa Home Language, Sesotho Home Language, Sepedi Home Language, Xitsonga Home Language, Setswana Home Language, and Tshivenda Home Language.
Isikhumbuzo Secondary School offers commercial and services subjects including Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Tourism, Consumer Studies and Hospitality Studies. Siyaphambili Secondary School, on the other hand, offers Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Geography, History, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Tourism, and the compulsory Life Orientation.
The schools have school libraries, kitchens for Consumer Studies practicals and Hospitality Studies. Additionally, our schools have sports facilities such as a swimming pool, multipurpose court, which accommodates tennis, basketball, and netball. There is also a soccer field that also accommodates athletics.

These fees are informed by the load of work demanded by each grade, starting from SBA tasks, cluster meetings and extra classes undertaken.
The school fees are payable in nine months. Parents are expected to have paid school fees in full by the end of September, every year.
Fee Exemption:
Due to the different circumstances of families and the economic situation of the country, parents who face difficulties in fulfilling school fees obligations are expected to meet the principal to apply for exemption.
The school boards of the various schools will determine whether the applicants deserve a full or partial exemption of the fees. Some leaners have received fee exemptions from grade 8 until grade 12 due to their excellent grades.
The schools’ leadership believes that any child, regardless of their upbringing (being a child of a domestic worker or social grant recipient), can make a success of themselves. These children, when given the opportunity to receive a quality education can become doctors, engineers, chattered accountants or business leaders. Hence, we extend the opportunity for fee exemption to deserving candidates.
We will always strive for quality and excellence, and utilising the resources we have optimally, to play our role in developing future responsible citizens and leaders.
